M.E.M. is a family-owned business founded in 1966 by Michael Matczak. In its early years through the late 1980s, the company focused on industrial services in the greater Detroit area, with a strong presence in the oil refinery sector, particularly supporting systems in the downriver region.
As time progressed, M.E.M. began to shift from purely industrial work into maintenance and service for outlets, especially with clients like Amoco and Marathon Oil. This change marked the beginning of their transition toward more customer-facing services in response to industry evolution.
By the early 1990s, M.E.M. adapted to the rise of the consumer convenience market, aligning closely with companies like Marathon and Speedway. The company expanded its offerings to include facility management, maintenance, and repair services. Today, M.E.M. is recognized as a go-to service provider, partnering with major brands like Speedway, 7-11, Circle K, and many more, delivering top-tier store branding, program rollouts, and ongoing maintenance across both local and regional markets.
